Assunta Waldburg
Geboren in Stuttgart, aufgewachsen in Berlin, ausgebildet in Paris und mit zwei Nationalitäten ausgestattet: Assuntas Kunst ist ebenso facettenreich wie ihr Weg zum Künstlertum. Anfangs noch entschlossen, sich allein der Malerei zu widmen, spiegeln sich ihre ersten künstlerischen Schritte noch in ihrer heutigen Arbeit wieder. Assunta schafft es durch ihre Arbeit den Begriff „ein Foto zu kreieren“ vollkommen neu zu definieren, indem sie digitale und analoge Techniken benutzt, um die Romantik der Malerei mit dem Realismus der Fotographie zu verschmelzen. Sie manipuliert Lichtquellen, um traumähnliche Effekte zu kreieren und erforscht stetig neue Techniken, um ihre Arbeit kontinuierlich weiterzuentwickeln. Jedes Bild hält den Betrachter mit einer tiefen Intimität und persönlichen Geschichte in seinem Bann. Insbesondere ihre Dokumentationen privater Festivitäten und ihre Filminterviews und Dokumentierung über die bunten Lebensgeschichten von Weltkriegsüberlebenden werden aufgrund von Assuntas gefühlsvollem, aber gleichzeitig professionellen Vorgehen sowie ihrer Diskretion hoch gepriesen.
